Background
Dr. Kobkrit Viriyayudhakorn holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, specializing in Creativity Support Systems / Computational Creativity from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), a Master of Engineering from Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology at Thammasat University, and a Bachelor of Science from the same institute.
Career
Since 2013, Kobkrit has been the CEO and Founder of iApp Technology Limited, a leading Thai AI company specializing in AI system development, chatbot services, OCR, face recognition, and speech technology. The company has successfully helped over 30 Thai enterprises integrate AI into their operations.
He served as President of the Artificial Intelligence Entrepreneur Association of Thailand (AIEAT) from 2021 to 2024, driving the growth of Thailand's AI ecosystem through industry initiatives, open-source projects, and education — including the AIEAT startup incubation program, the annual Thai AI Startup Report, and AIEAT School.
He was appointed Vice-Chair of the House of Representatives' extraordinary commission on AI governance and promotion (2024–2025), and since 2023 he has been the founder and team lead of OpenThaiGPT, Thailand's open-source Thai-centric large language model project.
